Vandy-Bama: This is why the NFL could never compare to college football.
Think about this:
-Vandy has never beaten a top 5 team.
-Vandy had a 23 game losing streak to Bama.
-Vandy hadn't beaten Bama in 40 years.
What was the fans' reaction:
-Storm the field.
-Tear the goal post down.
-Parade the goal post through the downtown music district of Music City.
-Toss the goal post in the river (the fire dept. later retrieved it).
Never would that happen in the NFL. Only in college football are the passions and spirit that high (OK, so the fans were high, too!).
Unfortunately, however, college football is on life supports with insane conference realignments and NIL.
But enjoy the last gasps of this phenomenal game!
