Let's worry about beating Navy first, as I think it's going to be a cliff hanger.

So long ago it won’t keep us ahead of them if the keep winning against better teams than us.

Why play the games then?

thinking you know better than what happened on the field.

We beat them by 10 on their field...they didn't play our schedule and we didn't play theirs. There is no way of knowing we wouldn't be unbeaten vs there schedule and the wouldn't be 5-2 vs ours. What is known is equal records and we beat them head to head in their place.

If you discount that then why even play the games...just plug data into a computer and let it decide the champ and save these players all the injuries.

and the flip floppiness of how it's applied

If what you're saying is correct then ND should have had back to back Natties in 88 and 89. We were the better team and played the tougher schedule but they gave it to Miami based on head to head. Then 4 years later when roles were reversed and we had the head to head win over FSU, they gave to who they 'thought' was better.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm entitled to tell you your opinion sucks ass.

I expressed the same distaste for Phil Steel having Tosu over Oregon, or Texas still over Georgia.

When two teams have the same record head to head results should always take precedent.

But our offense clammed up after halftime.

Also, we need byu and iowa st to lose before the conference championship games. We need the favorites on those title games to win as well. Also need Indiana to lose twice

But to help all that we need to beat everyone left convincingly. I don’t see how we get much credit for beating maybe it army assuming we do.
