As others have noted, the AP poll is meaningless.
Thankfully, the AP Poll doesn't carry any meaning
It doesn't count towards the CFP rankings.
They'll still have their "AP Poll Champion" at the end of the year, but if a team wins the actual CFP championship, that means they beat 3 or 4 highly ranked teams, all in a row. There should be no doubt about the champion in any poll with that kind of an accomplishment.
