Another weird "what if" scenario for Army/Navy
Suppose they both go undefeated and play in their conference championship game a week before the "real" Army/Navy game (horrible for Notre Dame although great for college football, but I digress). The winner is destined for the college football playoff.
But what if the winner of the playoff game turns around and loses the next week? I researched that their traditional game is actually a non-conference game.
I would guess the winner of the conference title game is still in as the playoff field is set at that point. But what a potentially strange occurrence.

The winner of the AAC isn't guaranteed a playoff berth.
Neither team would be in with 1 loss, which would be the case in your silly hypothetical.

The premise is that both Army and Navy are undefeated going into the conference championship. Which means unfortunately they both will have beaten Notre Dame and the winner of their conference championship game will almost certainly be the highest ranked Group of Five conference champions.
And the committee will decide the teams who play in the playoffs BEFORE the traditional Army/Navy game. I have not found anywhere they would delay the selection in the scenario I outlined.

I do not want Army or Navy to beat Notre Dame. What I said was if they did it would be great for college football, which is true. What is good for Notre Dame is my main concern, though. I'm intelligent enough to separate the two while you are not.
I watch every play of every game and have tried to do so since 1969 whenever possible. Now please go back to your room and come back out when you gain a few IQ points.

Well, I've met Lance in person..
and while he may be a bit, umm, blunt...he seems like a good dude to me and I consider myself an excellent judge of character.
One thing is for sure, I know where Lance's allegiances lie and I believe he'd rather gouge his own eyes out than ever say that Navy and Army beating Notre Dame would be "great for college football".
If you choose to believe that someone who says that, then tries to pretend they didn't say it (while it's still right there in black and white to read), while passing under the guise of an ND fan is a 'good guy'...then yeah, to each his own.
