The conferences are an unnecessary middle man at this point, but we're a decade+ out
from NFL-style divisions. There's too much money and control at play for the conferences to willingly back out.

I doubt it, with as much money that they get from the conferences. More likely that football will
break off from the other sports and form a division of its own.
