Would you rather play them later, at a neutral site, warm weather location where everyone is nice n comfy...or would you rather bring one of those Southern big boys up North in December.
I say rip the bandaid off and host Bama, Georgia, Texas, or Miami in South Bend.
should they host a 1st round against 1 of the lessers and get to play the 3 or 4 seed, they may "miss" a power that got upset...
There are probably only going to be 4 SEC teams in the playoff.
1 gets a first round bye, we host one, and the other two have high probability of being in other parts of the bracket, so if we are "lucky" enough to land in same bracket that has the SEC bye, we'd likely play only 2 SEC teams.
My thing is just to maximize our home field advantage. Hosting any of the other cold weather teams doesn't do that...either Miami or one of the SEC teams does (not Tennessee as much).
