No, that's when he puts NIU behind and gets a Statue...he'll get a lot of credit this year if he
wins these next two games and then wins a couple playoff games.

What the OP is talking about is pretty f'n great. If one can't acknowledge or celebrate that,
simply because MF hasn't brought him/her a natty, that's complete BS.
Also, a great youth movement
We have a lot of freshmen and sophomores pushing hard for playing time, especially on defense. Seeing players such as Adon Shuler stepping into the role of starting safety opposite of Watts, and playing at such a high level already, along with the young linebackers and other parts of the front seven, is very heartening. Heck, when even a former walk-on is cracking the 2-deep and performing well (Talich), it says something about the coaching.
If anything, the play of these young defensive backs make me almost forget that we once had a "super safety" prospect committed in that 2023 class by the name of Peyton Bowen.
The older guys they're replacing / displacing weren't bad players, either.
This definitely bodes well for the future, since those "kids" are going to be polished veterans next year, having gone through their baptisms by fire and coming out stronger.
DTs are a hole we need to fill, but everything else looks great long term on D.

Hinish looks to be another unexpected "hit" at the DT position despite his small size. His PFF
in the past 3 games that he has been allowed to play )as redshirt freshman mind you) are in the mid to high 70's which is very good (elite is over 80).
A lot like his older brother
Nothing flashy, but the man does his job, and does it very well. He plays smart football, and understands positioning and leverage.
On another note, Kurt Hinish once said that Donovan was a better prospect than he was.
He brings more energy and hustle than almost anyone. And he just keeps making great plays....
...his size might affect the number of reps he gets, but those reps are going to be really good.
He's great for his size and I like him in the rotation.
