You have to be all-in come playoff time.
And that’s not to win football games. We should observe all the Holy Days in an emphatic fashion. Fuck football if it gets in the way of that.
Not sure why I remember there being a limit. Could be wrong.
bids was the benefit of 15 extra practices. Gave staff a chance to evaluate subs, install some wrinkles, etc.
Not sure what the CFP allows, but a trip home a week before a game would not be a great idea at all.
I imagine they’ll practice, have a giant meal, and some sort of Christmas gathering - perhaps at the Freeman home.
There will be some Xmas celebrations today by the team allowing the guys to go home for Xmas was going to lose multiple prep days.
Right now it’s all about the next game and prep. Whatever they do today is fine by me. The program seems to be in a very good spot.
Football could be different, but I know for some other, non-revenue generating D1 sports, the practice days are either 'in-season' or 'unlimited'. 'In-season' periods must conform to NCAA rules, like a max of 20 hours/week and at least one full day off per week (there are ways to fudge around these, though). During 'unlimited' periods, the coaches basically have the freedom to do whatever they want with no restrictions.
