I don't think it's enough to just say ND or GA is piling up X yards per game and giving up Y. You have to compare it to what their opponents do.
Notre Dame's opponents' offenses average 376.2 yards per game; ND's defense gives up 295.3 yards. Notre Dame is +80.9 per game.
Georgia's opponents' FBS opponents average 419.5 yards per game. GA's defense gives up 336.5 yards per game. Georgia is +83.0 per game.
Statistical tie for the defenses.
Notre Dame's opponents' defenses give up an average of 357.5 yards per game. ND's offense averages 419.2 yards per game. Notre Dame is +61.7.
Georgia's FBS opponents' defenses give up an average of 338.5 yards per game. GA's offense averages 413.8 yards per game. Georgia is +75.3.
Slight advantage to the Georgia offense.
bulldog havoc...
get after Georgia, make them uncomfortable, turn them over, shorten the field, the D needs to set up the O
Both CFP teams…
We did it against zero currently ranked teams or one if those stats include Indiana. Our big win of the year now has five losses.
We haven’t seen the likes of Georgia this year. This will take a monumental improvement by Leonard.
UGA has five victories vs CFP final Top-25 (2xTexas), the best by far. ND has 2, which is respectable as much as anyone besides Oregon and Ohio State, who both have 3. Penn State has 2 (10,20). Tennessee and Clemson have 1. SMU & Indiana have 0.
In Strength of Record rankings, which ranks who you beat not who you played, ND is 3rd behind Oregon and Georgia.
They definitely have a stronger resume, the strongest even. But UGA has looked as vulnerable this year as they have this decade. We'll see how Wednesday goes.
I brought up the fact those stats are heavily influenced by the quality of your opponents. This isn’t about wins though UGA has us quite handily on that as well.
Just stating facts. We have an excellent chance to beat them as they have their #2 QB and they aren’t as strong as they have been in their recent NC seasons.
Tomorrow nights game is obviously important to keep moving on but UGA is clearly the best team we have faced and it’s not even close.
I didn't comment on the offensive/defensive stats posted, because I think yard/game is not a good stat to compare defenses.
Our Scoring defense is 3rd after Ohio State and Texas. Points win games, not yards. UGA is 19th
Our Scoring offense is 4th after Miami, Indiana, and Boise State. Points win games, not yards. UGA is 29th

You said UGA beat 6 ranked teams. They beat 4. You said ND beat 0 ranked teams. They beat 2.
ND has a very strong record this year. How strong?
SOR: Oregon - 1, UGA - 2, ND - 3
UGA has played a very difficult schedule and performed well, but ND has beaten a lot of good teams too.
UGA is a very good team that has shown vulnerability all year, and we have a H2H opponent to compare to in GA Tech. The computers favor ND. Gamblers basically have it as a tossup at -1.5 UGA. I like the Irish.
But it won't matter to you. You'll keep talking about how "pathetic" ND's record is even if they beat UGA, because it will be against their backup QB.
Please there is no comparison on schedule. None.

Army is ranked for a reason, and Navy is a good team too.
If you don't thing Indiana is good, I guess you're smarter than the AP and the CFP committee who do this for a living.

g, I just don't think ND's Oline is all that great. Riley is going to have to be great running and above average passing to offset what I believe will be total domination by UGA's front 7.
Make them run sideline to sideline don’t play under their strengths and try to pound it up the middle
Wear them out then if our defense can make Jorge three and out a lot, we can tire out their defense
know enough of Georgia's tendencies by now and to have the players prepared. The players relish these moments enough that preparation is key. They know what happens when they don't prepare (NIU) and they've not forgotten---to the tune of 11 dubs in a row. That lone loss will continue to be the driving force for each game. Georgia is very good but not elite. I don't believe ND will get lost in the moment. Denbrock will find answers on offense. EVERYONE has to up their game.
This is certainly not an undersized Army or overachieving Indiana DL. I love our RBs but the OL and DL effectiveness will be the keys to the game. I believe if Leonard plays mistake free Football then we win.

great? And where did I say the guys wouldn’t be prepared? Prepared does not mean physically able to handle UGA. ND matches up well everywhere but the interior lines of scrimmage.

Job of keeping their run game in check.
Making him uncomfortable in the pocket is golden’s calling card.
