Whoever wins tonight is already at a competitive disadvantage with Penn State b/c they will now be on 2 less days rest than Penn State - and you can argue even longer since PSU was barely challenged by a team that shouldn't have been in the playoffs let alone had a bye week. If the game was still going to be at 8:45, both teams wouldn't be traveling until the middle of the night. A 4:00 start time gives both team the opportunity to leave NOLA at a reasonable hour.
Have already conceded I wasn’t paying attention to NFL scheduling at all this week…just assumed there was a Thursday game.
Orange Bowl is next Thursday due to NFL though…prior to all this…

The NFL does rule the roost in that regard.
But, yes, the “Final Four games being played on a Thursday and a Friday are clearly NFL dictated.

Day drinking rules.
An adjustment has to be made to make it just a little more fair. Maybe push back the PSU matchup back one day.
Too many people already have hotel and flight reservations made for the dates scheduled. Requiring them to try and make changes at this point would be onerous to too many people.
Some type of adjustment might have to be made for the Penn State game unless the winning HC and CFP don't feel a two day jump isn't an advantage for PSU. First things first. Winning the Sugar Bowl.
Where do you think they can move the Orange Bowl to?

Maybe the winning Sugar Bowl HC will feel it's no big deal. Maybe the players are really resiliant and can adjust to a two day PSU advantage. Maybe CFB will see the need to delay the PSU game one extra day. I'm just a fan. All those mentioned are directly involved. It could be a big deal or no big deal. MF, Kirby, and players are focused on the Sugar Bowl first.
