This will end up like the NFL with even revenue sharing for teams in the CFP sub-division.
Because it's not easy to go it alone..in a conference you still get fed and electric bill paid even
in your down years. As an Independent you don't get squat in your down years.
You also have to be desirable enough for others to want you on their schedule as an Independent.
If it was the easy path, many more teams would be doing it.
