I hope, for his sake, he passes on this one. Until the McCaskeys sell the team, this will continue to be a dysfunctional organization and a coaching career killer.

This is correct. I've been saying for years now that the McCaskeys will never produce another
winner. If it weren't for Ditka and Buddy Ryan they wouldn't have won in 1985. Michael McCaskey was horrible! He was jealous of Ditka's fame and he was a pussy, which Ditka treated him as such. It's a shitshow in Chicago and any coach offered that job should think long and hard about what kind of support they might, or might not receive.
I don't want him to kill a promising career by making the wrong choice
I highly doubt the powers-that-be in the Bears org will give Weaver what he needs if he took the job.
Let the man bide his time, and get his choice of a better job.
Why are they pretending that anyone other than Ben Johnson will be offered first?

Bears don't want to spend big $$$$ plus hire a headstrong coach who may challenge the higher-ups
like Ditka.They also might want to go after an offensive minded coach. Just an opinion from a long time frustrated bear fan.
