Just over a month ago someone guaranteed we wouldn't be favored in any playoff games.

Never happen, because it's one of the same people that was calling for MF's head
and crying that ND should never hire a coach without previous successful HC experience. And whining that the starting QB should be benched in favor of the backup, who is clearly better.
Just described about 6-7 posters who are all die-hard ND fans now........or, at least, until things don't go perfectly again.

I also acknowledge that every rule has the exception and Marcus Freeman has shown that he is the exception. We caught lightning in a bottle this time, and I'm OK with that!

You're definitely not one of the posters I was referring to.
That said, ND didn't catch lightning in a bottle, they were patient and knew there would be bumps in the road with a first time HC.
A lot of administrations and fans panic at the first sign of adversity, ND didn't. They showed confidence in who they hired, unlike an overly vocal section of their fanbase.
