Sound off here if you're going to Miami, ask the board questions about the area, provide any tips/helpful info, etc..
We fly in around noon and will be heading over after we get checked into hotel. Parking info looks like the lot opens at 2:30. John Kennedy from Always Irish said his brother is tailgating there and the invite has been thrown out. I'll put more info here about that as it becomes available.
If anyone wants to get together before the game just to say hey, share a cold one, talk a little ishh, or get Hyped The F Up! just let me know.
We'll be in town all day Friday too, but not sure how much free time there will be as the wife wants to drive down to Key West or something.
Hope to see some of yall there. Go Irish!

..got my flight changed to tonight, details are messy..any recommendations on an area near Miami Airport to get a cheap room (without lives being in jeopardy) just til we can check into our real room Thursday afternoon?
Looks like there are orange lots all around the stadium
"I’ll be tailgating in the orange lot east of the stadium, there will be an always irish flag flying. Welcome to join."

We might need thoughts and Prayes from the board just to get out of DFW Thursday.
🤞
Just kidding. Wishing you all the best in getting to the game and getting to enjoy it.
Good luck there!
Anyone got a private plane I can hitch a ride on?
..unbelievable!
San Antonio?
Realize the hassle...and I haven't paid attention to weather in those spots.
Go Irish!

Let me know if you wanna meet up and chat for a bit.
Well worth seeing...but wouldn't do from there with limited time.

…the drive out of the way.
how long you think it would take to get down there from South Beach?
downtown Miami…you’d spend 8 hours of Friday just driving though it is a beautiful drive once you’re below Homestead…
IMHO not worth it knowing you would want to be at airport by 7:30….which means if you did nothing else but drive you would leave South Beach at 11:30 am!
My wife is from Miami and have been there easily 3 dozen times…cool place to visit but would never dream of living there
I figured 2-3 hours down, get some nom noms, see some sights and head back.
Guess we'll have to consider other options..any suggestions? Our priorities are to get some great seafood and see some nice sights.
There are a number of very high end hotels there that give day passes to their beach clubs…that’s what we would probably do but we love the beach…
we both enjoy the beach if we have some days to play with, but with just the one day we want to check some stuff out.
I lived in Miami (specifically South Beach) for almost 15 years and am about to hit my 10-year mark of living in the Keys. Loved living in Miami and all it had to offer, but at this point in my life, Keys living is the way to go! With the caveat that my blood has thinned from my Hoosier roots, I think it will be too cold this Thursday and Friday to enjoy the beach or a pool. If you leave Miami Beach around 9 am, you will miss most of the work commuter traffic and could be to Islamorada by 11/1130 as most of the traffic will be going into Miami as you are headed out. You may run into some traffic in the Keys with the weekend trippers, but you should have no traffic heading out of the Keys on a Friday afternoon.
I agree that it would not be worth it to drive to KW, although the drive is beautiful. Maybe make it a goal to get to the 7-mile bridge and Pigeon Key, but that's still a lot of driving. Driving to/from Islamorada is much more manageable, and you still get some of the gorgeous drive. There is also a Square Grouper in Islamorada, which has excellent food. Another of my favorites is Morada Bay Cafe and Pierre's. Lorelei is good, too. Admittedly, the best things to do in the Keys are on the water, but still some fun to be had with your limited time. Go to Robbie's and feed the tarpon--it's a tourist favorite for Islamorada. There is also a history and discovery center in Islamorada that includes information on Flagler's Overseas Railway.

Couldn't miss this opportunity--and after secure child/dog/house sitting, we are driving north Friday morning. Still figuring out tickets :)

If you're driving down from Miami, there are a bunch of fun stops to make on the way down; Alabama Jacks, Keys Fisheries, Bahia Honda, Pigeon Key (just before the 7 mile bridge), and the Turtle Hopsital are all some of my favorites. One of our favorite restaurants is the Square Gropuer located in Cudjoe Key (mile marker 22), but she just opened a new location in Key West on Caroline Street. My current favorite for fresh, local seafood is The Docks on Stock Island. The food is okay, but the view (if you can get a reservation) at Latitudes is spectacular. Other favorite spots to eat: Blackfin, Thirsty Mermaid, Little Pearl, Lola's, Santiago's Bodega, Belmare, Point Five (upstairs bar of Nine One Five), and Louie's Backyard. Honest Eco or Danger Charters for water excursions, Hemingway House, The Conch Train (I always recommend this to get a taste of the island from architecture to foliage information), and Butterfly Museum are some nice attractions. Last, but not least, the greatest bar ever: The Green Parrot. Enjoy--Go Irish!
Going with my 23 year old son. Our first bowl game ever. I got tickets through a PSU friend, so will be wearing green surrounded by white. We are so excited.

Each game was soul-crushing, but for different reasons:
1989 vs Miami @ the former shit stain known as the Orange Bowl
2012 vs Alabama @ Joe Robbie / Sun Life / Pro Player / Hard Rock stadium
2014 vs Florida State in Tallahassee
I think it's best that I stay away from this one.
If we make it to ATL - and I am cautiously optimistic that we will - I will be there.
2-0 in Georgia. I’ll stick to that
