I wonder how the media will blow the importance of the conf playoff, and the advantage of not playing in it, out of proportion.
Truth is, just like the best team doesn't always win a conf playoff, so in this expanded playoffs... the best team all year will probably not win the NATI. Oregon could argue that point.
Football has been used to saying let's get the best 2 teams (or recently 4 teams) together and whoever wins is the BEST. Now it is like March Madness, a low seeded, underdog team can win it all. It is interesting to see if the establishment will embrace or bristle when that happens.

A sign of weakness. He’s anxious based on his own miserable history in big games. If he passes this attitude on to his team it will hurt their performance

Not everyone has the same NIL money or the same facilities or the same dietary budget or the same schedule or common opponents or the same number of home games. . That is what makes college football unique. Tim, Tim, and John hit the ball out of the park with their response to Franklin. He needs to do better if he's attempting to get in MF's head.
Franklin is one dumb motherfucker.
I wish Freeman would just body slam his dumb ass and walk off the stage.
Joe knew.

More focused on conference alignment than winning a football game.

In any league, in any sport. Who cares about conferences right now? Or how many conference games are played.
It's like Andy Bernard bragging about going to Cornell when there are layoffs at Dunder Mifflin. None of that is relevant to the situation your in - it's a coping mechanism for excuses when you fail.
