There are several candidates for that.
1989 Fiesta Bowl, ND beats WVU for the NC.
1990 Orange Bowl, ND 21, Colorado 6. That should have been our NC moment.
1990 ND vs Miami, beating them 29-20. That Miami team was absolutely loaded with NFL starters.
1991 ND vs Florida, stomping on them for 300+ yards, despite their having the #6 defense in the nation.
1992 ND vs Penn State, for sentimental reasons. Coming back at the last second was sweet revenge after getting hammered by Tony Sacca two years in a row.
1993 ND vs FSU. Nuff said.
1995 ND vs USC. Manhandling that team 35-10.
