I've been as harsh of a critic of Clarett's as much as anyone's. His lazy ass attitude during his playing days, along with his many run-ins with the police deserved every bit of flak.

There's no doubt that he was a horrible person during his playing days and the years following, but in the last decade, he has honestly worked hard to clean up his life.

We've had our share of bad apples, too. Erik Simien was a thug in college, and was rightfully thrown out of ND for the crap he pulled. Eventually, he cleaned up his act, and is a respectable individual, doing good things for his community.

Redemption is possible, but it has to be sought after, and the one seeking has to be willing to do the very hard work.

His departure from tosu suggests otherwise.

I wouldn't say he is slimy. But he was less than genuine with the authorities at the time of the scandal.

Great line: "It takes one play to win the national championship. You just never know which one."
