In 2012 I felt like we had to win it that year..this feels more like a baseline to something still on the rise where we're going to get more cracks at.

2012 was an utter debacle
One difference, Free won’t be whining about lack of preparation or throwing the team under the bus. This isn’t 2012 by a long shot. But just like against NIU, we need tto find a way to be more potent on offense and keep building on our defense.
2013 could have been another shot
But, Golson got himself suspended, and never quite recovered from it. With all of that talent coming back for the 2013 season, it could have been something truly special.
We have a lot of talent returning for 2025's season, along with a better QB and WR situation. I think that everyone on the offensive line is coming back (assuming Spindler comes back for a 5th year), and without the injury bug as well.
The 2024 team has nothing to be ashamed about, except for the putrid performance against NIU (which in the end, didn't matter). They fought hard all season long, and especially today, and could have had a chance. Unfortunately, we happened to stumble upon a tOSU team that was firing on all cylinders, and had a mostly healthy roster.
I'm damned proud of these guys.

there was so much hokey pokey stuff just for us to get into the Natty, then BK one foot out the door, fake dead girlfriend catfish fiasco, dominated in Natty, Manti off to NFL..
Bk wasn't some still green behind the ears HC, he had a lot of experience and I wasn't expecting him to improve much or stick around very long. 2012 felt like a one n done Natty or bust situation to me..this year I felt just winning 1-2 playoff games would've been a successful season..14-2 with 3 playoff wins from a HC in only his 3rd year ever coaching waa better than expected. I think Freeman will have us back in contention consistently.
