Ohio St is generationally talented. That's what $20 million gets you these days. ND hung in there and certainly you can always arm chair QB or worse, Tuesday morning, some calls and decisions, but the big picture here is an absolutely incredible season; one which has turned around the most historic name in college football.
With 16 games, it's impossible to stay completely healthy, but I can honestly state, IF ND was healthy: Morrison, O-Line, the 2 rush ends and maybe most importantly Mills. ND and Ohio St are evenly matched. Not because they paid the most money and had 17 5-star guys, but thru player development. This includes mental/attitude, love for your team and school, as well as the physical components.
This is the first time since Holtz I can feel the team's love for Notre Dame and each other. I had my doubts, but the coaching staff proved me wrong.
ND has money to spend and I know it's necessary to compete, but not at the cost of getting players and coaches who don't love Notre Dame and put team/school first...always.
This team struck a perfect balance. I have watched "Here Come the Irish". The entire team's framework of hard work, comradery, and love of school, as well as team is artfully depicted in this series . A break here or there last night, ND is lining up for a game winning kick. It did not happen, but My GOD did they give The University of Notre Dame everything they had; including the coaches and staff. GO IRISH! A National Championship is on the Horizon.

It was a successful season and we have a great coach. The players left it on the field all year.
Finishing number 2 is better than all but one but frustrating because you never know when the next chance will come. The playoff setup does give us a better opportunity than in the old days. Remember how we all thought multiple ones were going to come after 1988, well we had great teams and if the playoff system were in place back then we certainly would have been a legitimate contender almost every year. People do not realize how tough the cornerback position is especially against fast good receivers in one on one matchups.
Hitting major league pitching is the only thing in sports more difficult. I would argue. And
the throw to ice the game was outstanding as well. Gray was not burned and forced them into a great pattern, throw and catch. And a brave call too.
Just wish golden was bought in like all the players
