It's impossible to keep track of it--with Morrison and Watts going early, 2 OLs transferring, and Jaden Mickey gone as well, does that mean we have space for more transfers or not?
The difference can be made up with NIL money. Scholarship limits are now a relic of the past.

they will need to add a scholarship for a women's sport as well. 85 is plenty for a football team imo.
Intentionally staying 10 or 20 under the scholarship limit would be like Intentionally shooting your own kneecap off.
Why would we do this?
I thought I read that total number went from in the 120s to 105 possibly due to the revenue sharing rule. Effectively Elon’s preferred walk ons.
during the football season. Now it's just 105 across the board for numbers during the season.
So before you could have 85 on scholarship and another 35 walk-ons, now you could do only 20 walk-ons if you're at 85 scholarships.
Essentially, some teams were paying the walk-on players enough to cover the cost of school anyway, a way to work around the scholarship limit.
I think the reduction in roster is terrible, considering the increased length to the schedule, teams are going to have less depth, and walk-ons are going to have a hard time finding a place.
Keep in mind there's a difference between a player being on full ride scholarship and a player getting legally required revenue share.
All players, even those on scholly will get revenue share..scholly player can pocket it, walk on player can pay their school with and pocket any potential remainder.
Ultimately it will be up to the school how many of the allowable scholarships they use.
schollies to fill holes and improve their rosters.
