hearing great things when he arrived on campus that he was a beast on defense….like a Bosa. Since then, I haven’t heard much, so I don’t know if he was injured or just not heavy enough for where he plays or maybe he just wasn’t as good as advertised. Most of the big schools offered him including Bama, Michigan, tOSU, Penn St. He was ranked in the top 100 nationally and was #2 ranked kid out of Ohio. Thanks.
He reminds me a lot like Brian "Hambone" Hamilton, who rotated between DE and DT in 1992, and was an excellent one.
A lot of people were wondering why he and Jim Flanigan weren't playing extensively in 1991, since both of those guys were excellent stalwarts in 1992 and 1993. The answer was that they weren't ready yet, and Flanigan especially wasted time trying to stay at linebacker for his first two years.
Even Devon McDonald needed a couple of years before he turned into a good DE for us.
I trust Coach Washington to make the right decisions.
They need to make a choice and stick with it.
He's needed in 2025.
Sounds like a strong side DE that you can slide in on passing downs, but there's probably more need for a true 3 down DT.
Only a sophomore, there's still time for him to develop.
with all of the injuries this year he didn’t get many snaps. I also read he wasn’t a fan of moving inside versus the DE he played in HS. I never saw him as a DE, but maybe he was told differently during recruiting.
He’s not in the portal or “retired,” so maybe the bulb will go off.
Saw him play numerous times in high school. Not aggressive and very noticeable. Disappointment
