He’s has been with the buffalo bills organization for a while.
I have nothing to add other than that. And the chat wasn’t news, mentioned as a rumor by a poster.
Dawson has been working in the Bills scouting department, but there's a WHOLE lot more to college roster management - especially these days. Notre Dame needs someone to knows the ins and outs of NIL and the transfer portal.
GM salaries around the country haven't matched what USC gave Bowden or what Alabama is paying so there should be no shortage of candidates.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have lasted in the pros if he weren't up to the task.
Right now, he's the assistant director of college scouting for the Bills, and knows what's he looking for when it comes to talent.
He has always been a pretty smart fellow, and has a very good analytical mind.
I think he would do very well at ND, although I doubt he'd want to leave a nice job in the NFL. Word has it that a lot of NFL teams are eyeing him for a GM position.
On another note, I still get a laugh out of how he was adamantly boycotting the very first Electronic Arts college football game (Bill Walsh's College Football), angrily stating that they didn't make him good enough, even though he had excellent stats in that game.
