I don't know much about Ash, and really don;t have an opinion. But Mike Farrell's site sure does....

Link: New ND DC??

Could it be an Ohio State pipeline thing with MF?

Only way it makes sense is if he is co-DC, but tend to agree it’s a head scratcher

obviously no inside information, but I don't think this is going to happen.

Strong D Back background and resume overall. What’s the beef you got?

I've read and listened to a lot of perspectives over the last few days, I'm sensing challenges:

cultural fit (seems more Urban Meyer than Al Golden), hasn't been truly involved in defensive plans in awhile, position expertise versus Mickens', potential loss of Mickens, declining stats with tenure. I also have to wonder how the OSU opening will play into this. If OSU grabs a huge, proven name, it's going to look bad. Ash isn't a home run hire. MF will be taking a chance, so why not stay in house? I still have some optimism a proven name joins the staff.

This, is what I was wondering about?? Thanks

No Beef, as I said, I don't really have an opinion on this guy. FWIW, AG was only a .500 head coach

Ashe has an impressive list of accomplishments. Regardless. I trust Freeman.

A little insight into his acumen/skills as a DC would have been helpful as opposed to an inane scree as to his failure at Rutgers.

If Ash is hired, he will work hard for another shot at being a HC.

The DC position seems to be a stop off place before the big job and payday.

Look at our past DCs who have moved on to HC or a higher profile DC job.

You think ND is a career destination job? I'm not even sure how long we can hang on to Marcus.

You have no idea what Ash's goals are

Yet you assume that he wants to be a Head Coach?

And no, it isn't "logical" to assume that.

I stand by what I said whether you like it or not., agree or not.
