Slightly before my time, but I was connected to him the last several years on facebook and had a few brief online exchanges with him. He struck me as a good person, extremely kind. He even had the habit of ‘liking’ and commenting on my infrequent, inconsequential family-related posts. I was humbled each time he did this.

Obviously, his place is ND lore is well earned.

Given the context his run was arguably the most electric in ND history.

Our biggest rival in a decade of their dominance AND absolutely critical to a Nattie.

My impression is that he was also a beautiful human being.

Had a 12 yard TD run against Bama in the 73 NC game. On a fractured ankle!

What a HOF call by the late great Lindsay Nelson. Was that Bud Wilkinson as the anaylist?

Eric's run certainly goes down as perhaps Top 5 all time. I was watching on TV and remember it well. I thought it was an ABC game. Anyway, RIP Eric. Once a Domer, always a Domer.
