Overwhelming amount of talent.
This happens to a lot of our receiver targets. Is this more on the player or the coaching staff? Can we really recruit guys that can’t figure this out? That seems very hard to believe since it happens routinely for our youth WR talent. Funny thing is we get the smart guys to come to ND so the not able to figure it out part baffles me.
Not picking on the player at all, more about this constantly happening

Do the thing ND did with Golden Tate in his first year; just give him Go Routes! He will catch a couple, and that will open up the underneath stuff. Keep the game simple for the physical freaks. He has plenty of time to learn nuances.
It's put up or shut up time for him.

Lots of high-end skills with a high ceiling: a guy who needed to learn how to become a receiver. Either he reaches his potential or he doesn't. It isn't always just on the coaches.

I am more interested in development overall at WR not cam Williams specifically

(Not sure why he left). He was pretty accurate then. I don’t know his connections with ND football.
Wonder why we have this issue seemingly each recruiting class
