This reminded me of Chris Zorich, who played one of the best games I've seen a NT play for us in that ill-fated, ghost clip Orange Bowl of 1991. When he got home, he found his mother had passed away shortly after the game.
Zorich destroyed that dude in that game and to go home and find his mom like that was totally gut
wrenching. I was so moved emotionally by that when it happened. I wrote Chris a letter telling him how sorry I was for that to happen to him and how I enjoyed his career. He actually sent me a “Thank you” letter. Total class act. Love that guy. When I think of those ND teams and we would all agree that physicality comes to mind. When I put a face to the physicality term of those teams, it’s always Zorich that comes to mind with me. One of my all time favorite guys.
