Assuming that’s not a coincidence
How many elite committed recruits have we lost over the past number of years at the last moment and then have to scramble for a last minute, lower rated player?
Sometimes it has worked out, because those last minute poached players end up hitting the portal after a year.... so I guess just trust the process.

The site listed 46 decommits in Kelly/Freeman era. If you add them together, that is 2 whole recruiting classes lost!!!!
I understand, the higher ranked a player is; the higher likelihood they get poached and decommit. I am sure it is an issue for everyone, but ND needs to improve in this area.

disagree... it is an issue and not just a "very few."
Since none of his background appears to be in high school recruiting, he is pretty much an unknown to high coaches and players. I doubt he has had a huge impact in a little over 2 months, so I would suggest that the recent success and his hiring is more coincidence than because of him. He signed on at the right time in a rising program.
Freeman's improvements in building a recruiting program over the last few years, establishing a track record of success on the field and the results (and exposure) of the 2025 season are the main drivers of the recent verbals.
Better for ND.
Winning does help our case and freeman is a beast at this but the number of commits in last month is telling. We weren’t enjoying this type if success until April.
