home field crowd is going to be their usual misbehaving self. BC also hates us and has a very good offensive mind as head coach. What I think is we will handle Miami and eke out a win against BC.
They have a bye week before, some returning talent, a lot of hate for ND, and Heinz Field is not easy sometimes. We should win, but I expect a tough battle there.
Exactly one year ago, many expressed concern about opening up at TAM, citing the heat and an energized home crowd.
Our defense and run game will give Carr / Minchey some cushion and time to adjust. I feel better going into this game than I did about starting at A&M.
And don’t forget that Miami will be breaking in a new QB, too, albeit an experienced one in punk Carson Beck. Sure, he put up some big numbers behind NFL level talent at UGA, but he is prone to throw INTs and not mobile.
GO IRISH!
beaten them in 1989 too.
I was there.
Easily my worst visiting fan experience, and I’ve been to plenty of away games.
3rd and 44 will haunt me until I take my last breath.

They don't have the dogs like they used to.
ND will run them over.

Yet I will remain optimistic against all comers. We have a great roster and a great coach.
the Notre Dame football TEAM is going to Miami with not the slightest intention of doing anything but winning....and the staff has the same thoughts. After a season of overcoming the odds, this roster has strength of talent and character everywhere. The Canes will throw several punches, but can they take all the haymakers the Irish can fire back? I look for a 38-27 win as the defense gives Beck all he can handle while the Irish vets lift Carr to new heights. Those 4 post season games will pay a big dividend in confidence and determination...not to mention patience.

Obviously, there's no way to know what the health and injury situation will be like at that point, but we'd probably really need to mismanage the 2 weeks of preparation to drop that one.
The schedule has some tough games. Opening at Miami, Texas A. & M. the following week, at Arkansas and then Boise State at home on consecutive weeks. It won't be a cakewalk this year.
Still a gauntlet in September.

The atmosphere can be imitated at practice but the speed and noise can't be duplicated.
Hell the students have to travel 25 miles just to get to it.
Piece of cake.
into the end zone early in the game for St. Brown had numerous full bottles flying at his head as he was trying to reach it. I dislike Miami more than any other team. The 1989 game when we were the better team still bothers me to this day. The 3rd and 40 completion by them absolutely put a knife in my gut. Also kind of outplaying them in the first half only to have an interception when we had good field position and ready to take a 7 point lead only to have it turn into a 14 point turnaround sticks in my memory.
What I meant was generic noise could be pumped in at practice, but the prime time game atmosphere, the hostile crowd, and the game speed cannot. I worry that our first time starting QB might get a little overwhelmed. I'm sure ths won't slip by MF and his offenive staff though. How do you prep a first time starting QB for this? .
What did you mean by your statement?
