Gibson was part of the peak of ND recruiting during the Holtz era. He was USA Today defensive player of the year, as well as they were almost in on Andre Hastings from Georgia the Offensive Player of the year in 89.

Aw Hell...
I remember him from my time at ND. I remember seeing him around in Grace Hall, with that big smile on his face. He could always make you laugh as well, even during the most depressing times.
He would have been the star of the defensive line, but Bryant Young and Jim Flanigan were there. A lot of folks would ask him if he thought he were being held back, and he simply smiled and said "I'm patient. My time will come," truly being an unselfish teammate.
RIP big man. This world is a bit darker of a place without you in it.
