His offer list translates to him being an absolute stud

This is how you land big time receivers. Get the best QBs.

That would be SO awesome as our only real recruiting deficit has been at that position.

He's a very good player but very similar to Carr, I like the QBs to have different skillsets

Why? When he steps on campus, hopefully Carr will be gone to the NFL as a 1st round draft pick

Then continuity of the offense will be an advantage

How many early entry QBs have we had in the last 50 years?

Sounds good but let's be logical

Thread Level: 6

Not many, but what does that have to do with Carr.

Be logical? Ok. Carr is the highest rated QB since? Jurkovich? Wimbush? Gunner Kiel? Kiel didn't stick around and then injuries did him in. The others were not as talented and were underdeveloped while at ND. Freeman's staff is better at coaching than Kelly's. Weiss was pretty good at coaching QBs. He had an early entry in Clausen and another in Quinn that could have gone early.

Gino Guidugli seems to be a better QB coach than Tommy Rees. So, the development of Carr should be so much better. Denbrock is a better OC than anyone ND has has since, well, Mike Denbrock. Of course everything is speculation at this point, however, IFeverything falls into place with this offense, Carr could very well be a good candidate for early entry.

While I don't think it's far fetched that Carr could be good enough to go early, even if he stayed for his senior year, whomever comes in at QB in 2027 will be a freshman while Carr is a senior. My point was that having the same type of QB that is waiting in the wings to be the next starter will be a good thing, as the offense will show more consistentcy from one year to the next.

Thanks. I forgot about Clausen leaving as a junior.

Had Deshone Kizer stayed for 2017, we would easily have been a playoff team. Equanimeous St. Brown would have had a monster season as a WR1, instead of nearly getting his neck broken several times lunging for errant passes.

Thread Level: 4

Disagree. Carr (and he) are excellent - represents continuity on offense.

He's being crystal balled to us, according to Eric Thomas at 247, and with a 90%+ guess at On3.

Very good offer list, including Georgia, PSU, tOSU, Michigan, Clemson, and several others.

His throws are sharp, accurate, with plenty of zip on them, and with good timing. Also, he doesn't get very many batted down balls, since he has a nice, high release point and a very quick release.

He's one of the best pure passers in this class, and not a lead footed statue.

If he keeps developing as I think he will, he's going to have a good jump in the rankings.
