I'm starting to believe Herbie: "There's just something about CJ....." It's called, the IT factor.

Can you have an "IT factor" without having played a meaningful snap?

Can we make it to the NC or even the final four if he’s only as good as Leonard? Or not even as

Good? Like others have said that’s a big unknown. He hasn’t taken a snap as a major college QB.

A lot riding on his arm and his shoulders. He will make or break this season just like Leonard.

Based on the perceived hype I expect a minimum of final 4.

I am hoping that being more talented at every other position except maybe dline or QB that we can

win without having to resort to relying on the QBs legs, but rather having them only occasionally create something good out of a broken play. If that and the dline holds up we have a chance. Texas, Ohio State, Georgia and PSU are good too and probably three others that I am forgetting. We just have to be the better team each game.

I think he or Minchey will be on a projection of good to great.

But we have to see it.

Sure. Powlus won a couple Heismans before his first snap. Didn't he?

Technically, I think Beano made that proclamation after a 4TD opening performance vs Northwestern

But your point stands since those weren't really "meaningful snaps".

Believe Beano made the prediction after the 1993 win over Florida State. Powlus was red-shirted…

…with a broken collar bone at the time and didn’t take a starting snap until 1994.

Not only did Beano say that Powlus would win “at least” 2 Heismans…but also that ND would win “at least” 2 NC’s in the next four years…

…and we all know what happened the next week against BC.

One of the great jinxes of all time. Still active over 31 years later…

Yeah, there is that. The Mitch Mustain saga also comes to mind.

Weis really, really wanted to sign him. And would have had Frazer and family not pushed back.

Frazer and Jones were already in the fold, and Mustain was always going to take his time with the decision. He wanted to commit to N.D., and Weis scrambled hard to get him on board. Frazer and family were not happy and essentially reminded him of whatever assurances he'd supposedly made to them early in the recruiting process (not sure if it was about not signing another dropback guy or only taking 2 Q.B.'s).

And everyone else wanted him, too - he was rated higher than Tebow. You might make the argument that his numbers were inflated by Arkansas' less-than-stellar high school competition, but he beat some nationally ranked teams that year. Maybe it was just Malzahn's system and expertise against high school coaching, but either way, he was pretty lousy as a college player.

Who is this Frazer are you talking about?
