Some thoughts on Beck.
The games I watched were against Texas and Alabama so he was playing against really good defenses. Obviously he's not a running QB. I didn't think he threw that well outside the pocket either. If ND can get to him or at least pressure him with their front four chalk one up for the defense. Ash can send the blitz when he wants to and keep the Canes in second and third and long. Let's face it. The defense is going to have to carry this team until the QB situation is settled and that will take a while.

Having an elite athlete at QB last year made them look good.
Ward had to do a whole lot of scrambling around to be calling their Oline top rated. He saved their bacon many, many times.
Let's see how good they are against elite pass rushers with a statue at QB.
When I saw Cam Ward last year I was truly amazed at how he made that team a very good team. I didn't
think they would keep winning as long as they did and Georgia Tech finally showed that he couldn't carry them quite all the way.. I did think he was the best QB in the country last year but I was still amazed when he went number 1 in the draft while only having one outstanding year.
For sure, what makes a kid amazing in college doesn't often translate to NFL success.
Running around until someone gets open gets one maimed or killed up there. He was great last year, for sure.

The Canes’ receivers are less than elite and are inexperienced working with Beck.
If we can bring pressure we may get some picks and rattle Beck… who does not have the outlet superstar Brock Bower to bail him out.
Great point. I worry about every game but Miami does have talent. We have more.
