unless you buy the highly unlikely idea that both are elite. So, as ever it seems, it will be make the ND QB beat us and not we can't let the QB beat us. (I didn't say "with his arm" because with these two, that's the only way they can beat you.)

Here’s hoping both have good mechanics…
while being successful.
Strong running game, excellent WR corp and a QB that throws dimes all day, this O can be lethal.
He won the battle because he pushes the ball down field.
I expect some picks, but more dimes.
Strong running game and the fact that Carr practices against probably the best defense he'll see all year should help.
You're right though, he's going to throw some picks. ND got spoiled last year with how well Leonard protected the football.

I wonder what it was that separated CJ from Kenny? Good or bad. MF will take full responsibility for the decision.
have done an outstanding and adjusting. I trust them

And I'm sure he will have an answer.

Carr has the highest ceiling, and Kenny is QB 1A in my mind and should play some.

Minchey may play short yardage situations at least.

A lot of that problem rests with Denbrock trying finesse when a sledgehammer woulda got the job done. Especially given ND's schedule last year. The Army game had me thinking BK was calling the O again.

position.
The "Minchey will start" people are saying things like this to try and save face.
Not saying that's you, just saying it has been amusing to watch people run with the Minchey story when it has been apparent from last year that CJ will start.
We may find a way to take advantage of it.
We have well paid, experienced coaches to figure this out. I am sure there is a plan in place.
But we will see.... again if we win all is good!

Don't get me wrong, I would have been happy with Minchey as well. Both of those guys put on a competition we haven't seen since the likes of Rick Mirer vs Jake Kelchner in the spring of 1990.
The length of the competition tells me that the two of them were duking it out, and the better man at the moment won, that neither were given the Brian Kelly appointee status from the start.

Every thing he does and say will be micro analyzed here and across other social media outlets. You have to live with the sacks and picks. He was named the starter. We have to live with it.
There were plenty of times in the early part of 2024 when Riley Leonard made quite a few bone headed decisions, but was still allowed to continue doing his job.
He understands that players are human beings, and that they will screw up at times. The players also know that they aren't going to be walking on egg shells around him.

The pressure is huge no matter what. He has been preparing for this. We will see what he is made of.
Personally, I think he has the mental toughness and talent to thrive. There will be a NIU moment this season... we will see if he is able to respond and rebound like Riley
