We all know the challenge that lies ahead and we will see how tough this team can be. Miami will be a difficult start. They want to embarrass and destroy you.

The crowd will be ramped up and hostile. I have heard reports that the fans are planning a special event which they call an “orange out” for the colors they will be wearing.

During this journey, I know that there are many people who will cross your mind who have helped you along the way, including your coaches and teammates.

I image when you think of your family, you also think of your late brother, Chad, who was a model for toughness as he fought for his life. A game does not compare to his fight, or the fight of others off the field, but after reading Chad’s story I thought it was a little ironic that the first Miami “orange out” would coincide with your first start for Notre Dame. We all wish that Chad could be there, but after reading his story and realizing his favorite color is orange maybe the color choice is fitting.

Chad fought hard and left a legacy of toughness; we will see after 60 minutes of reloading on each play how much toughness this team will display for Notre Dame.
