The way to protect this QB is to make him a complement, not key. He's a trailer, not the truck. It's like Ben Roethlisberger in the 2004 season. And in that season, Big Ben's role was easier because, when Pittsburgh established a lead, they could lean on a great run game and defense; they won only one game that they were losing at half. And that's who the 2025 Irish are. We have to be a start early after a pick/fumble/sack and then use our big hogmollies to lean on them. So essentially...my hope is the anti-2017 game.
We need to make this simple for the freshman.

This program showed a toughness last year that we haven't seen in 30 years.
That comes from the top. Doubt they'll need it on the 31st simply because I think Miami is highly overrated, but if it does go down to the wire, ND has the toughness and talent to get the W against anyone.

Always but in Miami the key is ND pass rush. ND secondary is very good.
They should be able to make Beck less than ordinary if there’s a constant and consistent pass rush.
Survive the home crowd and team in 1st quarter and then impose your will.
Defense needs a strong start. Our offense may spin its wheels early.
Also need a strong special teams night.
