Is that Beck had Tommy John surgery at the end of last season. He didn’t practice at all in the Spring. All of his WRs are transfers from other schools. Tonight was the 1st time he’d played w/ them.
Plus, not only did Miami have a new DC but 60% of their defense was new w/ either transfers or 1st time starters.
They didn’t miss a beat. We were the ones who looked inexperienced. Freeman has a lot to answer for.
team plays looser. That was a great one hand diving catch that guy made on a pass that Beck forced and Shuler was staring at to intercept instead of going to the ball and getting it. Worst result of the night on a play at a time when you need to hold them to a field goal at worst.
This was a significant step backward. Losing Golden was huge and Carr has a long way to go.
Thankfully we have a soft schedule so playoffs are completely doable.
On Ash, there were multiple plays where Bowen with the "Green Dot" couldn't get us lined up. I don't blame Drayk.
On offense, Price has the hot hand and we never back to him. We never went back to Faison either. But the constant forcing of the bubble screen, cost is he game, quite literally as Miami knew exactly what we were going to do and blew it up.
I wasn't close enough to throw shit at them, but I wanted to.

broken up on the one hand catch seconds before the end of the first half was a killer.

This was a throw back to trying to win by not losing. Really poor offensive play calling.
You can’t win big games by not losing without a dominant defense.

And play dink dunk on the offensive side like they did with Leonard, presuming the QB was incapabl of anything more.
The coaches gave up an entire half of offensive football to Miami trying to figure out what ND could do. Instead of trying to implement a competent plan to get the run game going.
If they didnt think they could trust the QB, then get a portal QB for two games. You don't go into a game against a top 10 opponent thinking let's try to keep it close.
