Elite interior D linemen seem critical for success in college football.

Stuff the run inside and push the pocket back in the QB's face seems like the recipe for shutting down an opposing offence.

The past several national champs all featured dominating interior D linemen.

For whatever reason ND has had only average success recruiting this position in recent years.

Coaching seems less relevant when it comes to this position.

"Unfortunately" (IMHO) I believe the lack of talent on the interior DL has more to do with....

has more to do with low SAT scores & inability to be academicly admitted than the coaching/recruiting staff.

Thought we stopped using that a long time ago. MF clearly has been recruiting at a very high level with little to no restrictions from what it appears.

Freeman signed Elijah Golden, a 4-star D-lineman in next year's class.

According to all the recrujiting sites, bluechip D-linemen are also in short supply.

MF & Company are trying their best to land elite D-linema., But it's not an easy task.

Academics could be part of it. I don't know. But I wish the Irish could get interior D-linemen through the portal, at least.

He would have been a difference maker inside.

I think ND can get anyone into school they wish, the issue is they haven't at DL for a long time.
