Sorry for the duplicate post.

They haven't been good in a long while. Since before Shaw left.

Don’t they tend to do well with Olympic Sports?

I seem to recall that at one time that they had the most olympians of any college.

They were lucky to have Harbaugh. He really changed the culture.

But now the culture has fallen back. We know that feeling.

Both Stanford and Northwestern are significantly more limited in whom they can offer than ND.

Thus their pitifulness.

No, not Northwestern. But yes, Stanford is more limited. Esp since

…the fb players have to fill out the full application which includes essays.

Stanford is less forgiving than ND on FB player admissions, but
NW is easier, not harder for athletes to get into than ND.

I'd say Michigan is next but their hierarchy has no problem breaking every/any rule to win. Stanford has a few scruples and morals to go along with their elitist attitude, so they'll struggle to win like they did under Harbaugh.

Too many left wing professors hating on football. I hope they keep that up.

They are way behind the pack in this new world.

They simply don't have the ball rolling yet on investing in their football program. Not promoting the fund at all to their donors in any meaningful way. Only now warming up to accepting transfers.

And it isn't attractive to good coaches or players on its own merits. They have had a single winning season since 2018. They play in a conference on the opposite coast.

It will take a lot for them to regain any relevance.

perhaps the most disinterested alumni in the country.

Rome wasn't built in a day. He needs to try and make a splash for a new and young HC to lead the program in 2026 and beyond. I noticed the OSU stadium wasn't charged up and full for the Buckeyes "clash" with Grambling. Older Irish fans take a ton of heat for not standing and screaming for a punt against NIU or Tenn State. At least they will show up for these games.
