A lot of head coaches call plays. Freeman is a defensive minded coach. Can't he see that Ash's scheme was not working? After the first quarter or so, he could have stepped in and done something about it, like dictate defensive plays or even called them himself.
He did nothing, despite having been a successful DC. That's the part I don't understand.
But when his coordinators have their head up their asses, he is clueless and/or spineless in how to right the ship.
That's not a true head coach.
