And it's the rest of the team that sucks., and Carr looks really good.
Makes you really wonder about the coaching staff's credentials, judgement, and capability.
Our pass defense is it makes u wonder if/why our offense was carving up our defense in practice.
It seems there's something fundamentally wrong with the coaching, the offensive and defensive philosophies. Not to mention the coach's ability to teach fundamentals. Tackling, blocking, coverage positioning. The zone concept. I mean they just let the opponents WR's run loose and try to tackle them after the catch. When they should be making immediate contact to separate the ball. It just looks like poor coaching. Sure they're not executing, no shit Sherlock (not directed to you but to Freeman) But why?
And why wasn't it fixed. Why was it ever a problem? Why did it take so long to diagnose? Why do we continue to run zone if we can't do it? Maybe wait to practice it against a clearly inferior team as opposed to a top 20 match-up? Then there's Why aren't we getting pressure with 4 when we expected to? It just reeks of inexperience and poor coaching.

His credentials concerned the guys at Blue and Gold, for example. There was headacratching, too. But I think MF got the benefit of the doubt. Ash was a bad hire. MF has to see this. But it's hard to admit that he made that bad hire. What MF do after the Irish D implodes week after week?
And he's apparently incapable of both.
If that's a firing , a demotion, taking over the defense like Elko apparently did. Something. Not the old, we'll we have to execute better. That may be, but that's clearly not the only problem. Why aren't they executing, why wasn't that detected? It just reeks of incompetence. And it's not just the defense that's a problem. The Oline looks like trash, and the offensive play calling. You wonder if he's just too inexperienced to get the job done outside of recruiting.
