For the coaches, players, and fans.
ESPN is giving us a 93% chance to win. We have to curb stomp Purdue. Anything less than 50+ scored and more than 10 allowed will not quiet the criticism.
I expect the defense to suck.
the irish are, indeed, 0-2. however, this team isn't performing as poorly as the record would indicate. both opponents are currently undefeated and ranked in the top 10. n.d. lost by a total of only 4 points. considering the team's maturation, this record isn't as bad as it looks - things will get steadily better. whether they compete for the playoffs or not depends on how fast they fill the holes, but they have the talent. things started slowly last year, too, and as riley and the offense coalesced, they really turned it up. i expect the same this year. the purdue game should say a lot about the fight that's left in this year's irish.
imho.
to win every week now and then the decision makers go with the thinking that we are playing better football now, and only lost in close games early. First things first, win them all one at a time. I think our team is capable of beating anyone in the country if the breaks go our way and we play a little more to our potential in every game. USC might have exposed our pass defense in last year's game. The pass rush must get better, the Texas A & M QB had a lot of time as did Miami's. The USC QB is possibly better than both.
Rooting for Miami makes me physically ill...
A&M has a punchers chance in the SEC. @ LSU and @ Texas will tell their tale.
ND still isn't going to the playoff.
