He’s not up to this, if he were he’d have fixed it during the bye week.

At one point in late in the first half, we were giving up 10 yards a play.

What actually is the goal of a Chris Ash defense? To tired the opponent out from running 100 yards unabated?

Why was this guy hired? Why not hire someone who knows Golden’s system & would be a smooth transition to an already well-oiled machine?

The coordinator position are very big & important decisions, going forward, imho, more people have to be involved in the hiring, vetting process.

This guy was a scout, not even coaching. What was he scouting? Were any of his suggestions while “scouting” implemented?
Is “scouting” just a holding tank for the unemployed coaches?

This is the second time this has happened (OC Parker the other). A guy who’s on TV a lot said “We only get so many ‘guaranteed opportunities” well how ‘bout we stop pissing them away with retreads/insufficient coaching hires.

The ND faithful care about this alot. Their support of the program should be rewarded with competent care of the program. Aka “Max out”

Every decision should be does this get us closer to a National Championship? Is this decision making us better? You can start using those questions as to who’s going to take over running the defense the rest of the way.

Just my 2 cents as always I could be wrong

Go Irish

PS if we are passing the hat to bring Golden back, I’ll give.

What's necessary is you have some clue what your DCoord. is doing with a top ranked defense.

Brian Kelly would regularly get blown out in these losses. Marcus Freeman has never lost by >13 pts

With that exoribitant amount of money comes the expectation that you won't completely shit the bed doing your job. $50/hr. You still expect competence, but not quite the millionaire level.

Yet, I'd bet they get less freedom doing their jobs and less leeway for mistakes.
