What must be done eventually, should be done immediately

That old management directive: what must be done eventually should be done immediately.

IMHO: Ash needs to go, now, for lack of performance nor any sense of urgency to fix things or have any kind of coherent defensive game plan.

The other coach’s should also be put on notice.

I'll say the O looks far better. Zero confidence in Ash.

Oh, that one's not working either. Dang it. Try this Fisher Price one.

Maybe the defensive playbook that Ash uses came Fisher Price - it would explain some things. Anyway, people get the hook all the time. Freeman should just pat Ash on the shoulder while taking his play calling sheet , tell him thanks for his effort but that ND is going in a different direction. Then tell him to leave the field/ and the campus, and then and take over. Have someone clean out his office and ship it to him. Happens all over America every day - to people who don’t even make 1/10 what ash makes. Ash will be fine financially.

For the players it’s their career, for the coaches it’s a business. For the University it’s all about standards and results. Ash is severely lacking. ‘Buh-Bye!’

Yep, set the tone and expectation. Same for the Dline starters.
