Potentially puts super conference in jeopardy. Mediocre football schools happy to cash in and get the moolah.

OSU, Michigan, PSU & Oregon could bolt for the SEC. B10 & B12 would be screwed!

Conferences are antithetical to the super league. Enough good teams out there that you don’t need to revenue share with bad teams to produce competition.

You make an excellent point dont these league have bottom feeders that basically cash fat checks on

the success of the conference brethren?

Is that something you what to sign up for long term?

If you have a really good competitive program, shouldn’t you get the check for that? Is it kind of like tv the show Entourage, if I’m remembering right…there’s the star, and there’s all the “buddies” whose lifestyle he pays for. Turtle & the gang? Is that right?

Just my 2 cents, as always I could be wrong

God bless everyone & Go Irish 🍀

Look at schedules. Don't the big guns profit from having lots of teams they know they can beat?

I think you can still achieve that and pay on an ad hoc basis and not cut patsies in on the big $$$.

Michigan State pays Central Michigan $1.5 million each time they play. Much cheaper than cutting Central Michigan in on the spoils of the BIG. Give them half the gate and the rest of the cash money is yours.

Isn't the tradition that everyone gets an equal base but big winners earn more post-season?

Isn't that likely how they would structure such a deal?

Spot on. And love the Entourage reference. Drama & Tom Brady and golf was great.

while I don’t know the deep specifics on either “deal” on the face of it, I’m a hard No.

OSU and Michigan are loath to share their potential equity with the other peons in the Big? Conference..

But a Superconference might just mean that most schools are relegated to minor league status and that the Big Boys conference would essentially be nothing more than the minors of pro football.

They seem like they are well on their way to doing that. Restraint is in order but entirely lacking.

due to being considered part of a school's "educational mission" (my eyes are rolling on that one), I'd imagine those athletic departments are NOT considered autonomous.

I don’t know anything about that. I am sure there will be litigation eventually
