New transfer portal rules

A few changes...

There is now only a single 15 day period from Jan 2 through Jan 16. This includes grad transfers as well.

Players who are from teams in the playoffs get another 5 days.

Players from teams whose head coaches were terminated can enter the portal 5 days after the coaching change is official (used to be immediate), and they now have 15 days to find a new team (down from 30).

No more spring portal period.


Only the last one will make any notable difference, since a lot of players bolted after they don't like their standing after spring ball.
