Curious, do we have any commits or current backups that compare to Love or Price coming out of high

School? Just wondered what we have in the pipeline. Seems like we have a pretty good Estime style back waiting in the wings and player comparable to Kyren Williams style but not those two.

That play like Love? No. Javian Osbourne and Jonaz Walton might be their own dynamic 1-2 punch tho.

I would say yes. Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton…two highly ranked RBs in the ‘26 class

Walton is noticeably slower. Osborne is only slightly slower than Love/Price on film. But...

...there just aren't many that fast. I'd say we are in as good of shape as anyone (other than the team that scores a diamond).

Walton/Osborne is a very nice "thunder/lightning" duo.

Walton speed is known to be elite. Just different than JL. 10.60 100m + 48ft Shot Put = Freak

Walton's 100m time is faster than Love's in high school by nearly 2 tenths.

There is a difference between best track times and football speed.
First of all, is the best time regularly reproducible, or is it an outlier.
Second, has the guy had lots of track training or only run the event s few times.
Third, I’m sure you know that some guys run great in track, but not in pads carrying a football.
Fourth, ( not pertinent to straight line speed here, but very important for a RB )- what is their start, stop acceleration like).

I suggest you watch that film of both recruits and ignore the guys around them. Watch how fast they are covering ground and then recall how fast Love and Price do it.
I stand by my statement. Osborne is the faster of the two RB’s, and it is noticeable.

Greg Flammang had a great segment on this with a lot more track detail and interpreting track times on Hit & Hustle last Spring during recruiting time of this class.
Worth the listen.

Walton is very fast and almost won the state title in GA as a JR

He's plenty fast on film but your not running full speed on every play especially when your the 2nd-3rd fastest guy in the state. He's just running at a different gear than everybody else.

Haha. Hilariously convenient.

You make a mistake and then use "podcasts" as a source.

Meanwhile from his recruiting profiles:

- 2nd place finish in the GHSA 4A 100m dash as a junior is reflected on tape
- one of the fastest players in the 2026 class
- will break contain and create explosive plays when given daylight

Meanwhile he is NOTICEABLY slower. You're the best crazy.

Exactly! Why even pay that any attention, some people confuse quickness for speed and vice versa

Osborne has elite side to side quickness and an excellent jumpcut with VERY GOOD speed (10.8-10.9) at the moment, Walton is more of a get North runner with less quickness but EXCELLENT speed (10.5). It's just a contrast in styles like Julius Jones and a guy like Mike McNair.

Thread Level: 6

In a clip I saw, Osborne has some pretty elite lateral quickness.

But not quite what we have now imo.

He's up to 215 lbs, runs a 10.6 in the 100m, and squats 600 lbs already.

Osborne is more of a quick twitch, juking guy, but his runs are mostly north and south.

I'm actually fine with our RB stable next year. Aneyas Williams would have been a starter on just about any other team out there, and he'll be hungry.

Nolan James from ‘25 and Kedren Young from ‘24 are damn good backs too

9-12 months of recovery for a torn ACL. He's a hard worker, so I know he's been taking his rehab seriously.
