....Weis era, Ambrose Wooden for helping set up that epic play. If I recall correctly, it was 4th down & 20+ yds to go (SC on their ~ 25 yard line) with a 1:30 to go in the game, Wooden (Mr. Toast his whole career) decided or was instructed to play SC WR Dewayne Jarrett in a tight man-to-man coverage only to get burned once again. Leinhart completed the pass to Jarrett down to the ND 13 yd line. 2 rushes by Reggie Bush got the ball down to the 2 yd line; next play Leinhart (qb sneak) gets pushed into the end zone by Bush for the game winning TD. Gotta love the luck of the IRISH!!!

It was a perfect pass on a perfect route, and coverage was tight.

I’ve seen far, far worse defensive plays.

I still swear that ball went through Ambrose’s arm.

He was all over him.

This game still haunts me.

He had a very good 2005 season.

He had to battle injuries in 2006, and never really fully recovered from them, which is why the younger players passed him up in 2007, especially David Bruton, Gary Gray, Darin Walls, and Kyle McCarthy.

It was 4th and nine. SC fumbled at our goal line that bounced out of bounds.

Students thought the clock ran out on that play and rushed the field. Since I was in the first row by the sophomore section, I got crushed and was forced to jump the wall myself onto the field. .CW went into the Trojie locker room after the game to congratulate them on the win, which I thought was strange. That game was so reminiscent of the OSU game.

Also, he's now an executive director with JP Morgan after a very successful 13 year stint with Goldman-Sachs.

If someone wants to say that he wasn't NFL material, that's fine.

If someone wants to bash him outside of football, then that person needs to get his head checked.

How about 1964? As a ninth grader a broken hearted loss to me. And then 1965-Schoen couldn't pass.

1967 loss, 1968 and 1969 ties. 1970-1972 we got whipped. 1974 second half. 1975 they were better. 1976 refs robbed us. 1978 refs really robbed us on sack at end or no call on sack. 1979 they were better. 1980 dumb ass Devine going with Blair Kiel at QB. 1981 one touchdown loss. 1982 refs robbed us. 1983-1995 perfection. 1996 Sanson missed extra point. The rest in between was bullshit with Davie and Ty. We did win a few but all were not memorable. Finally 2005 the Bush push and a call against our nose guard for roughing the center. Kelly's team actually handled them fairly well. I just can't handle any more heartbreak. We have to win this game.

He told me during halftime of my game and I was crushed. Couldn't hardly even focus the second half. My over the top dislike for SC started on that day. Anyway, we did beat Holy Angels so at least I had that going for me.

You must be one hell of an athlete to be so critical of some young man trying to do his best. He got beat at an inopportune moment. You don't think he doesn't replay that every day of his life?

Have you ever made a mistake in your life? I guess not.

I undertsand Penn State is looking for fans. Why don't you give them a try. I don't think we need moronic comments like yours in our fan base.

You referred to Wooden as a "highly regarded recruit". Actually, he didn't hype himself but rather recruiting services graded him.

Whether the servcies were right or wrong doesn't matter. Wooden did the best he could on a perfectly thrown ball.

I just don't understand ridiculing players especially after heartbreaking losses. Trust me, they feel bad enough.

It's fine if NEPA Irish thinks I'm an asshole but give the players a break.
