Not sure who else will knock them off,
Isn’t fair but ACC could get two into the playoffs
My guess is Ohio State Indiana Oregon
Alabama Texas AM ole miss Georgia are potential locks
Miami GT power 5 ?
BYU or Texas tech?
Leaves one spot for say
Vanderbilt notre dame Oklahoma

Didn't get enough of a boost from USC victory and with weak schedule the rest of the way we need many upsets to move up in the polls which are largely based on won/lost records and conference support without regard to real abilities at vote time.

Worst of all would be Georgia losses to GT, but they still get in and win the SEC as a guaranteed team with 3 losses, then GT loses to Miami in ACC champ
SEC(4): 10-3 Georgia, 11-2 Alabama, and 2 other 10-2 teams
ACC(2): 12-1 GT, 12-1 Miami
B1G(3): OHSt, Oregon, Indiana
B12(1): whoever...
other champ (1): whoever...
so one open at large for ND which could easily be placed behind a 5th (10-2) SEC team or an additional 11-1 B1G/B12 team.
Fortunately, the scenarios of 5 10-2 or better (which includes a 10-3 champ) SEC teams will probably become rarer this weekend when BIG GAME KELLY falls to TAM, and/or the Hyde version of Arch Manning shows up again against MSST, or Tennesse has another of its prototypical flops against a lesser road opponent in Kentucky

Yup. Can’t really complain when teams that took care of business 10-11 times get slotted above you when you only took care of business 10 times and none of the teams you beat are even ranked.
BTW, if you want some real nightmare fuel picture this scenario: USC goes on a tear while we scrape by and fall behind them in FPI. Indiana loses to a team that USC beats solidly and USC loses in OT to Ohio state in the championship.
Then you’ll face getting left out behind a 3 loss USC that we beat!
