Folks I know saw them shake hands.
From what I heard (podcasts and stuff) you may be right.
Either they shook hands or if not, Riley tried to get to Freeman to do so .

Here's my theory which I believe is correct.
Long day for both coaches and players. Stressful game which ended in a loss for USC. Bad weather. Raining hard. NBC's crackerjack sideline reporter grabs MF for her hard hitting interview the moment the scoreboard reaches zero. Lincoln sees this and is in no mood to be waiting around so he leaves the field to be with his players and coaches. .They will still have poker night the next time MF is in LA.
Sadly we'll never know, because NBC sucks.
