Red Zone (mostly inside the 5) Issues

I cannot believe the issues we have in short yardage situations. I will never understand snapping the ball 4 yards behind the LOS in very short yardage situations. Is it too simplistic for me to ask why can't we load up with 3 TE's or an extra Tackle and have Carr go under center? This was so effective when it was Kyren and Ian and I would argue JLove is at worst equal to KW in getting tough yards (they both are exceptional tough yard runners). It opens up the sneak and play action as well. I just don't get it. And if we commit to a wildcat then pull CJ and add a lead blocker. Foot splits, Pin and pull blocking to either side, no way that is stopped with our line - or is the line part of the problem? And on that note, am I the only one who is wondering what the hell happened to Jagusah and will he ever play consistently? Go Irish.

Is there an issue with our OL used to blocking to open holes for the backs to get through vs. just

pushing the DL backwards? Opening holes works great up to the goal line, but not in short yardage where the LBers just fill all the holes. Is it a totally different skillset and mindset to just push everyone back and our technique or power isn't built for that? I know we generally have undersized OL who are more agile than say when we play A&M, Georgia, etc.

I agree in general with what you are saying but should NC State be able to push our OL back like they did several times? It is baffling.

Agree with the initial thoughts but Jagusah will be back.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

He's already used his standard redshirt. Since he's lost significant time to injury in both...

of the last two seasons, he could apply for a sixth year medical red shirt. But, if he comes back strong and has a great year next year, he would probably be off to the NFL anyway.

Was not aware. Thanks.
